‍ ‍ They are headed to The Junior High Nationals Rodeo Finals to compete. The LCRA
sponsored their trip which is in Guthrie, OK.
The National Junior High Finals Rodeo (NJHFR) is the premier championship event for junior high (middle school) rodeo athletes in the United States and Canada, organized by the National High School Rodeo Association (NHSRA). Dates for it are on June 21–27, 2026. This is a major youth rodeo event where top qualifiers (roughly 1,000 competitors) gather from states, provinces, and some international areas (e.g., Australia, Mexico) to compete. Athletes are typically in grades 5th–8th (under 16 as of August 1st of the rodeo year).
Events Competitors participate in events such as: Barrel Racing, Pole Bending, Goat Tying, Breakaway Roping, Tie-Down Roping, Chute Dogging, Team Roping, Ribbon Roping, Junior Bull Riding, Bareback Steer Riding, Saddle Bronc Steer Riding & Shooting Sports (.22 caliber rifle)

Prizes include thousands of dollars in scholarships and awards. The event also crowns world champions in various categories and team/all-around winners.

Background and Qualification:
The NHSRA Junior High Division started in 2004 as a feeder program for high school rodeo. Athletes qualify through their state or provincial associations by performing well in local and regional rodeos.

Serenity Shores

The LCRA also sponsored Serenity for the CA High School State Finals in Barrel Racing.
The California High School Rodeo Association (CHSRA) State Finals are scheduled for June 7-13, 2026, in Bishop, CA at the Tri-County Fairgrounds.

This is the major high school division state championship event where top qualifiers from CHSRA’s nine districts compete. The top performers (typically the top 4 in each event) advance to the National High School Finals Rodeo (NHSFR). Location: Bishop, California @ the Tri-County Fairgrounds.

The National High School Finals Rodeo (NHSFR) is the premier event for high school rodeo athletes in the US (and some international qualifiers), organized by the National High School Rodeo Association (NHSRA). It crowns national champions across multiple events and awards
substantial scholarships.

The 2026 NHSFR Details are:

July 19–25, 2026. Sandhills Global Event Center 4100 N 84th St, Lincoln, NE 68507

Shooting sports at a nearby range in Bennet, NE. It returns to Lincoln for 2026 and 2027. The event features rough stock (bareback, saddle bronc, bull riding), timed events (barrel racing, team roping, tie-down, steer wrestling) plus shooting sports, reined cow horse, cutting, and side events
like talent shows and a triathlon.

LCRA gave $500 to help with travel costs for each local competitor to compete in events outside our county.
